Eelco Grimm is lecturer and researcher at HKU University of the Arts Utrecht, Music and Technology. He is co-owner of the high-end professional and consumer audio equipment manufacturer Grimm Audio. He owns the recording and acoustical consulting company Fairytapes. In the past he has been technical editor and editor in chief of the Dutch Pro Audio Magazine. Eelco has developed measurement techniques and surround sound recording techniques. He has produced acclaimed cd's, written a book on optimising professional audio systems, designed the acoustics of several professional audio studios, chairs the Dutch Broadcasting Loudness Committee and is member of the EBU P/LOUD committee, the Technical Committee on Sound for Digital Cinema & Television of the AES, the Technical Committee on Broadcasting and Online Delivery of the AES and the R4WG8 working group of the Consumer Technology Association. Recently he has been focussing on loudness issues for television, radio, the internet and cinema and on improving user interfaces for music players.
