Afterlight

A composer sought after for his versatility and fluency across numerous genres, Stephen Barton’s work encompasses many of the biggest franchises in video games, film and television. He is known equally for his orchestral music in scores like Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, and hard hitting electronic music in scores such as Apex Legends and Titanfall 1 & 2. His other scores include Watch Dogs: Legion, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes, Unlocked, 12 Monkeys, Niko and the Sword of Light, Jennifer’s Body and numerous projects beyond.

Born in England, he started his professional music career at the age of eight, as a chorister in the world-renowned Winchester Cathedral Choir, touring internationally throughout Europe, Australia and the USA and performing on over a dozen albums. At 18 he moved to Los Angeles to became assistant to Harry Gregson-Williams, contributing music and arrangements to several dozen movie projects over eight years, including the Shrek and Chronicles of Narnia franchises.

Recent projects include Mysterious Planet, a landmark five part miniseries with Natural History New Zealand, and several other unreleased AAA game titles. He is a committee member for the Grammy awards, a member of the Abbey Road Spatial Audio Forum, and is a creative advisor to BBC Worldwide, Syng, and Qualcomm.
