Dr Dale Johnson is a postdoctoral research fellow at The University Of Huddersfield and is a member of the Applied Psychoacoustics Laboratory (APL). In 2014 he received a BSc degree in Music Technology and Audio Systems at The University Of Huddersfield, and in 2019 he received a PhD degree that focused on the development of a perceptual optimisation method for virtual room acoustics. His current work at the APL involves researching and developing efficient, virtual acoustics rendering techniques for 3D in 6DOF VR/AR. His background is both musical and engineering, having a combined interest in composition and the inner workings of music technology itself, specialising in digital audio processing, programming, and electronics.
