Wave Sciences

J Keith McElveen, Chief Technology Officer and Founder of Wave Sciences (Charleston, SC, USA) received his BS and MS Electrical Engineering. His current research involves enhancing the senses of both humans and devices through technology, engineering, and design. His involvement in a war crimes investigation at the end of the Cold War started a decades-long search for robust, practical solutions to far-field speech and the cocktail party problem. His recent advances have been in wearable and embedded microphone arrays incorporating beamforming and/or matched field (Green's Function) processing approaches that effectively and robustly address the distant and cocktail party speech problems in noisy, reverberant, and crowded environments.
