Jason Kanter

Jason Kanter's been involved in professional audio for over twenty years. While he got his start in music production as a tracking and mixing engineer, he later went on to work in film, television and video games. Jason currently serves as Principal Audio Lead for Avalanche Studios in New York City and for the past ten years he’s focused his pro audio career on game sound, having worked on a number of titles including: Just Cause 3, BioShock 2, The Bureau: XCOM Declassified, Sims 2, Barbie Diaries: High School Mystery. and most recently, Just Cause 4.

Fueled by his desire to foster a game audio community in New York CIty, in 2016 Jason co-founded NYC Game Audio- a monthly meetup where sound designers, composers and game developers can gather to watch presentations, discuss film and game sound, and socialize.

Jason is a member of the Motion Picture Sound Editors and Audio Engineering Society.
