After graduating from USC’s Recording Arts program, Karl Winkler served as touring FOH sound engineer in the 1990s with the Air Force Jazz Band based in Washington, DC, where he first started using wireless microphones. Since then he has worked as a product manager for Sennheiser and is currently VP of sales & marketing for Lectrosonics. Karl has done frequency coordinations and band plans for hundreds of clients including major churches, tours, theaters, TV & film productions, including a number of reality and episodic TV shows. Karl is an instructor for Syn Aud Con's "Making Wireless Work" training class and for Church Sound University’s wireless training curriculum. In his spare time, Karl is professional violinist and violist in New Mexico.
