Katrin is a media conservator, M.A., working at the Phonogrammarchiv of the Austrian Academy of Sciences in Vienna, Austria, and at the Potsdam Filmmuseum, Institute of the Film University Babelsberg „Konrad Wolf“, Germany.
She has been studying degradation processes of audio tapes in both of her theses (B.A./M.A.) and within the research project ILKAR of the Rathgen-Forschungslabor, Berlin in 2012. After her studies, she completed a conservation traineeship at the ZKM center for art and media in Karlsruhe. From 2017 on, Katrin did freelance audio conservation and restoration for two years and started to work in audio and photograph archiving at the Filmmuseum in Potsdam. From 2020 on she is also joining Nadja Wallaszkovits in the audio technology department at the Phonogrammarchiv in Vienna.
