Skip Walter

Marin Country Day School

Skip is a history teacher at Marin Country Day School in Corte Madera, CA. He is originally from Cleveland, OH, and takes great pride in having been raised in the "birthplace of Rock n' Roll." Skip attended the University of Vermont where he studied English, history, and politial science. He then went on to earn an MA in English Literature from Middlebury College's Bread Loaf School of English. Whether it is through literature, photographs, paintings or sound recordings, Skip loves introducing middle school students to new historical resources. It is exciting to explore primary documents with young historians and figuring out ways for them to connect their personal experiences to those who came before them, particularly those whose voices, ideas and efforts may have been ignored or marginalized in the past.
